I won’t say there are experts in the field because a certain level of creativity and a word about Brand Recognition is all that matters. What many designers reveal is that a logo must stand out and recognizable (not conspicuous) at varying sizes right from city wall posters, visiting cards to tiny icons on the address bar. Colors, of course, are important. Not very convincing, but it is stated that blue is the most commonly used color in logo design. It could be true since my few favorite logos include those of the automobile corps. I might be a bit biased about that. Still logos of Volksvagen, BMW, Audi, Beetle and Ferrari have always been an inspiration. While the first three top the list because of their sheer simplicity still reflecting the quality and reliability of the products. They are also symmetrical (Volkswagen and Audi horizontally, BMW vertically), and modern (particularly of Audi). Beetle on the other hand stands in the list because of it’s impressive classic design and the regal feel that it generates. Much similar to that, Ferrari logo glints the sporty vibes with the yellow and red. Please find a few examples in the link below. How to use color in logo design effectively?
